hobonichi doodles

I absolutely adore the feel of the Tomoe River paper that is in the Hobonichi planner.

So I couldn't help myself.  I've already started on my journal for 2015.  It started with the first page.

And then a few more...

Hobonichi LOVE

I love preparing for the new year because the possibilities are FREAKING endless.  One of the routine things that I do is pick out a new diary/planner for the new year.  I tend to stick with the system for a whole year {{at least!}} and change it up the next year to see what works best for me.

Dearest Michelle at Seaweed Kisses have made me wonder about the gorgeousness of the Hobonichi since the beginning of last year {{how I held on for that long, I have no idea!}}, a Japanese planner with Tomoe River paper, the most smooth, thin, and beautiful paper I have ever had the pleasure to touch.

When the Hobonichi 2015 planners were released I uhmmed and ahhed about it for a long time.  A REALLY long time.   And then I did it.

I ordered the A6 Hobonichi Techo English planner and the Cousin size Hobonichi Japanese planner.  And a whole lot of other accessories.

The planners were a lot heavier than I imagined but the paper was of such high quality, I just couldn't resist.  I was so glad I ordered both sizes!

I plan to use the A5 size as a daily planner and the A6 size as a journal.
I was lusting after the forest cover on cover so of course when it came back into stock, there was another sneaky purchase from me.

What planner are you using for 2015?

love letters:: from eunice

The lovely Eunice at @thedailyroe is one of my dear, dear, dear penpals.  She has a certain flair for all things sweet and vintage and the most beautiful {{almost printed}} handwriting.  Receiving letters from her brings me such joy.  You just know that she placed the utmost care of picking little trinkets and putting it together.  Over time, I got to know her for the beautiful person that she is and I just feel so happy that I get to call her a friend.

Eunice, you are gorgeous.

love letters:: to rehana

While I do have an intense love for stationery, notebooks and everything lovely like that, I must confess something.  I have never possessed a Moleskine before! Shocking, I know, but I fixed it with these postal notebooks that are just so gorgeous.  I love the idea of it and customising them for my penpals.

I customised this little kraft one for Rehana, one of the most gorgeous snailmailers I met through my penpalling adventures.  I was driven to create something more air mail-like.

I love how it turned out in the end! Do you?
Have you ever had a play with one of these before?
Let me know because I love being inspired to make something of them.

recording life:: march 24 - march 30, 2014

Life has been a bit low key due to the number of things I have to do for uni as well as home life.  The assignments are starting to line up soon and I would like to be as prepared as possible!

I am so in love with the origami cranes on the card.  A gift from the beautiful Eunice, @thedailyroe.  She is the sweetest and most generous girlie there is.  I feel so lucky to know her and build a friendship via letters.

The weekend led to a surprise visit from a cousin of mine.  Which led to a small hello celebration in the form of hot pot.  Mm, I do love my hot pot!

I hope you have had a better than good week.

i heart notemaker

I often get asked where I purchase my stationery products, whether it be online or local.  Notemaker is one that I have been wanting to share for a while because they are an online store that is local to me.

I am so in love with finding new stationery stores that can get the goods to me fast.  And I mean FAST.  Notemaker has become one of my stationery websites that I simply enjoy scrolling through because of their vast variety of lush stationery products.  This website here is home to some of them bad boys.  I'm talking Rifle Paper Co., Rhodia, Delfonics, MT Masking Tape, Midori, Field Notes, Pantone and Moleskines.  I'm shaking at the thought of them all in one warehouse - you all know I would absolutely lose it! (But Notemaker, if you ever invite me to your warehouse, I promise I won't...)

Their warehouse is located in Melbourne.  And I'm in Melbourne.  And their shipping is super fast.  Which means I get my packages within a day or two (I'm being literal here!) and omgsh, does it satisfy my cravings for something amazing.

I ordered some things that I have been lusting for months to bring me to the free shipping mark.  Aren't they all so wonderful? I truly have been lusting for some Rifle Paper Co. for the longest of times.  My sweet penpals have been so kind to share some of their stickers with me, and I am forever thankful to them.

Their shipping is also pretty amazing at $6.50 within Australia and free shipping over $65.  International shipping is $12.50 and free when orders are over $95.

So what are you waiting for? Get on to that website and drool over everything!

recording life:: march 17 - march 23, 2014

The days are getting cloudier and I am hoping for some place warm, and bright, and full of vacation-like things.  Need this to get away from my mass of constant assignments and practical reports.  It's tough doing a double in Biomedical Science and Science! I don't know many other people with the constant workload that we have.  If you do, kudos to you! Hope you're keeping up awesome with your uni work!

At least I had zumbarons from Adriano Zumbo's shop in Melbourne to keep my fuel going for studying all weekend.

recording life:: march 10 - march 16, 2014

Back to uni has gotten me so busy and life worries for after uni has gotten me melancholy, so what do I do to fix this? Make my diary as bright and happy as possible! I so adore the little birdie paperclip and the kikki. K "today is a great day" memento.  A gift from @rarchi_archie, so it is extra special!

I think the bright and happy washi tape and stickers worked well to lift my mood because I found myself to be quite productive and even sneaked in a bit of social event.

Hello Foam Party, where it's okay to dress casual to an up-scale bar and get covered in bubbles.

I hope you had a great day, week, fortnight, month!

guest blog post @citygirlsearching

I was so so so incredibly flattered when dearest Roxy from City Girl Searching.  She is an avid blogger and photographer.  I love looking at all her photos and the wonderful person that she is!

I did something a little bit different with this guest blog post, and I found that I really enjoyed myself! I have found that I have accumulated a lot of supplies over the past few months.  What better way to use them than to make your own stationery?

Do take a look and say hi!

recording life:: march 3 - march 9, 2014

A little bit boring on the decorating front, I know, but it's back to uni and that means back to business (as a student).

The past week was trying to get back into routine.  Which I really enjoy, so I'm not complaining! But I know it is my most difficult semester yet.  I'm looking forward to the challenge and doing the best I can!

I hope you are all well!

recording life:: feb 24 - march 2, 2014

The past week passed by in a blur.  I don't know if it is because it was a packed week and there were lots to do or I was sleep deprived! Still, had to say the best day of the week was @retnobear and my little stationery rendezvous.  I had the best time with her and it makes me so thankful for things like Instagram.  They have this beautiful way of connecting people with similar interests and I enjoyed all the amazing places she took me to! I will most definitely share my finds from that day here some time.

A friend's 21st was an eventful way to end the week, and just like that! Week 1 of uni has started.

I hope you all have been well, I'm pretty much shaking with excitement for the coming semester and I hope you are too!
